My favourite Michelin Restaurants

Restaurants vary over time, and consequently it is difficult to objectively rank restaurants precisely within a category, to say that such and such a restaurant is the 17th best in the world rather than the 16th or the 18th. There is also a matter of personal taste: I have a slight preference for classical over ultra-modern cooking, for example, and someone else may quite legitimately feel the opposite. The cooking of Joel Robuchon in Paris before he retired was perhaps the most consistently superb food that I have eaten, but I have had many fabulous meals, and superb individual dishes at many other restaurants, as outlined on the pages of this site. I would encourage you to sample as many as you are able to, and make up your own mind.
